By those [angels] who extract with violence

U?UZU�U�U�UZU�U�O?U?O�UZU�O?U? U�UZO?U�O�U�O�

Wan naa shi taati nashta

Sahih International
And [by] those who remove with ease


79:3

U?UZU�U�O?UZU�U�O?U?O�UZU�O?U? O?UZO?U�O�U�O�

Wass saabi-haati sabha

Sahih International
And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming


79:4

U?UZU�U�O?UZU�U�O?U?U�UZU�O?U? O?UZO?U�U�U�O�

Fass saabi qaati sabqa

Sahih International
And those who race each other in a race


79:5

U?UZU�U�U�U�U?O?UZO?U?U�O�UZU�O?U? O?UZU�U�O�U�O�

Fal mu dab-bi raati amra

Sahih International
And those who arrange [each] matter,


79:6

USUZU?U�U�UZ O?UZO�U�O�U?U?U? U�U�O�UZU�O�O�U?U?UZO�U?

Yawma tarjufur raajifa

Sahih International
On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],


79:7

O?UZO?U�O?UZO?U?U�UZO� U�U�O�UZU�O�O?U?U?UZO�U?

Tatba’u har raadifa

Sahih International
There will follow it the subsequent [one].


79:8

U�U?U�U?U?O?U? USUZU?U�U�UZO�U?O�U? U?UZO�O�U?U?UZO�U?

Quloobuny-yau maaiziw-waaji-fa

Sahih International
Hearts, that Day, will tremble,


79:9

O?UZO?U�O�UZU�O�U?U�UZO� O�UZU�O?U?O?UZO�U?

Absaa ruhaa khashi’ah

Sahih International
Their eyes humbled.


79:10

USUZU�U?U?U�U?U?U�UZ O?UZO?U?U�UZU�O� U�UZU�UZO�U�O?U?U?O?U?U?U�UZ U?U?U� U�U�U�O�UZO�U?U?O�UZO�U?

Ya qoo loona a-inna lamar doo doona fil haafirah

They are [presently] saying, “Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?


79:11

O?UZO?U?O�UZO� U?U?U�UZU�O� O?U?O?UZU�U�U�O� U�UZU�O�U?O�UZO�U�

Aizaa kunna ‘izaa man-nakhirah

Sahih International
Even if we should be decayed bones?


79:12

U�UZO�U�U?U?O�UY O?U?U�U�U?UZ O?U?O�U�O� U?UZO�UZU�O�U? O�UZO�O?U?O�UZO�U?

Qaalu tilka izan karratun khaasirah.

Sahih International
They say, “That, then, would be a losing return.”


79:13

U?UZO?U?U�UZU�U�UZO� U�U?U�UZ O?UZO�U�O�UZO�U? U?UZU�O�U?O?UZO�U?

Fa inna ma hiya zajratuw-waahida

Sahih International
Indeed, it will be but one shout,


79:14

U?UZO?U?O�UZO� U�U?U� O?U?U�U�O?UZU�O�U�U?O�UZO�U?

Faizaa hum biss saahirah

Sahih International
And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth’s surface.


79:15

U�UZU�U� O?UZO?UZU�U�U?UZ O�UZO?U?USO�U? U�U?U?O?UZU�U�U�

Hal ataaka hadeethu Musaa

Sahih International
Has there reached you the story of Moses? –


79:16

O?U?O�U� U�UZO�O?UZU�U�U�U? O�UZO?U?U�U�U?U? O?U?U�U�U�U?UZO�O?U? U�U�U�U�U?U�UZO?UZU�O?U? O�U?U?U�U�

Iz nadaahu rabbuhu bil waadil-muqad dasi tuwa

Sahih International
When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,


79:17

U�O�U�U�UZO?U� O?U?U�UZU�U� U?U?O�U�O?UZU?U�U�UZ O?U?U�UZU�U�U?U? O�UZO?UZU�U�

Izhab ilaa fir’auna innahu taghaa.

“Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.


79:18

U?UZU�U?U�U� U�UZU� U�UZU�U?UZ O?U?U�UZU�U�U� O?UZU� O?UZO?UZU?UZU�U�U�

Faqul hal laka ilaa-an tazakka.

Sahih International
And say to him, ‘Would you [be willing to] purify yourself


79:19

U?UZO?UZU�U�O?U?USUZU?UZ O?U?U�UZU�U� O�UZO?U?U�U?UZ U?UZO?UZO�U�O?UZU�U�

Wa ahdi yaka ila rabbika fatakh sha

Sahih International
And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'”


79:20

U?UZO?UZO�UZU�U�U�U? U�U�U�O?UZO�USUZO�UZ U�U�U�U?U?O?U�O�UZU�U�

Fa araahul-aayatal kubra.

Sahih International
And he showed him the greatest sign,


79:21

U?UZU?UZO�UZU�O?UZ U?UZO?UZO�UZU�U�

Fa kazzaba wa asaa.

Sahih International
But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed.


79:22

O�U?U�UZU� O?UZO?U�O?UZO�UZ USUZO?U�O?UZU�U�

Thumma adbara yas’aa.

Sahih International
Then he turned his back, striving.


79:23

U?UZO�UZO?UZO�UZ U?UZU�UZO�O?UZU�U�

Fa hashara fanada.

Sahih International
And he gathered [his people] and called out


79:24

U?UZU�UZO�U�UZ O?UZU�UZO�U� O�UZO?U?U�U?U?U�U? U�U�U�O?UZO?U�U�UZU�U�

Faqala ana rabbu kumul-a’laa.

Sahih International
And said, “I am your most exalted lord.”


79:25

U?UZO?UZO�UZO�UZU�U? U�U�U�UZU�U�U? U�UZU?UZO�U�UZ U�U�U�O?UZO�O�U?O�UZO�U? U?UZU�U�U�O?U?U?U�UZU�U�U�

Fa-akha zahul laahu nakalal aakhirati wal-oola.

Sahih International
So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].


79:26

O?U?U�UZU� U?U?U� O�UZU�U�U?U?UZ U�UZO?U?O?U�O�UZO�U� U�U?U�U�UZU� USUZO�U�O?UZU�U�U�

Inna fee zaalika la’ibratal limaiy-yaksha

Sahih International
Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah].


79:27

O?UZO?UZU�O?U?U�U� O?UZO?UZO?U?U� O�UZU�U�U�U�O� O?UZU�U? U�U�O?UZU�U�UZO?O?U? O?UZU�UZU�U�U�UZO�

A-antum a shaddu khalqan amis samaa-u banaaha.

Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.


79:28

O�UZU?UZO?UZ O?UZU�U�U?UZU�UZO� U?UZO?UZU?UZU�U�U�U�UZO�

Raf’a sam kaha fasaw waaha

Sahih International
He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.


79:29

U?UZO?UZO?U�O�UZO?UZ U�UZUSU�U�UZU�UZO� U?UZO?UZO�U�O�UZO�UZ O�U?O�UZU�U�U�UZO�

Wa aghtasha lailaha wa akhraja duhaaha.

Sahih International
And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.


79:30

U?UZU�U�U�O?UZO�U�O�UZ O?UZO?U�O?UZ O�UZU�U�U?U?UZ O?UZO�UZU�U�U�UZO?

Wal arda b’ada zaalika dahaaha.

Sahih International
And after that He spread the earth.


79:31

O?UZO�U�O�UZO�UZ U�U?U�U�U�UZO� U�UZO?O?UZU�UZO� U?UZU�UZO�U�O?UZU�U�U�UZO�

Akhraja minha maa-aha wa mar ‘aaha.

Sahih International
He extracted from it its water and its pasture,


79:32

U?UZU�U�U�O�U?O?UZO�U�UZ O?UZO�U�O?UZU�U�U�UZO�

Wal jibala arsaaha.

Sahih International
And the mountains He set firmly


79:33

U�UZO?UZU�O?U�O� U�UZU�U?U?U�U� U?UZU�U?O?UZU�U�O?UZU�U�U?U?U?U�U�

Mataa’al lakum wali an ‘aamikum.

Sahih International
As provision for you and your grazing livestock.


79:34

U?UZO?U?O�UZO� O�UZO?O?UZO?U? U�U�O�UZU�O?U�UZU�O�U? U�U�U�U?U?O?U�O�UZU�U�

Fa-izaa jaaa’atit taaam matul kubraa.

But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity –


79:35

USUZU?U�U�UZ USUZO?UZO�UZU?UZU�O�U? U�U�U�O?U?U�O?UZU�U�U? U�UZO� O?UZO?UZU�U�

Yauma Yata zakkarul insaanu ma sa’aa.

The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,


79:36

U?UZO?U?O�U?U�O?UZO?U? U�U�U�O�UZO�U?USU�U? U�U?U�UZU� USUZO�UZU�U�

Wa burrizatil-jaheemu limany-yaraa.

Sahih International
And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see –


79:37

U?UZO?UZU�UZU�O� U�UZU� O�UZO?UZU�U�

Fa ammaa man taghaa.

Sahih International
So as for he who transgressed


79:38

U?UZO?UZO�O�UZO�UZ U�U�U�O�UZUSUZU?U�O�UZ U�U�O?U?U�U�U�USUZO�

Wa aasaral hayaatad dunyaa

Sahih International
And preferred the life of the world,


79:39

U?UZO?U?U�UZU� U�U�U�O�UZO�U?USU�UZ U�U?U�UZ U�U�U�U�UZO?U�U?UZU�U�

Fa innal jaheema hiyal maawaa.

Sahih International
Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.


79:40

U?UZO?UZU�UZU�O� U�UZU�U� O�UZO�U?UZ U�UZU�UZO�U�UZ O�UZO?U?U�U�U?U� U?UZU�UZU�UZU� U�U�U�UZU�U?U�O?UZ O?UZU�U? U�U�U�U�UZU?UZU�U�

Wa ammaa man khaafa maqaama Rabbihee wa nahan nafsa ‘anil hawaa

Sahih International
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,


79:41

U?UZO?U?U�UZU� U�U�U�O�UZU�UZU�O�UZ U�U?U�UZ U�U�U�U�UZO?U�U?UZU�U�

Fa innal jannata hiyal maawaa

Sahih International
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.


79:42

USUZO?U�U�UZU�U�U?U?U�UZU?UZ O?UZU�U? U�U�O?UZU�O�O?UZO�U? O?UZUSUZU�O�U�UZ U�U?O�U�O?UZU�U�U�UZO�

Yas’aloonaka ‘anis saa’ati ayyaana mursaahaa

Sahih International
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?


79:43

U?U?USU�UZ O?UZU�O?UZ U�U?U� O�U?U?U�O�UZU�U�U�UZO?

Feema anta min zikraahaa

Sahih International
In what [position] are you that you should mention it?


79:44

O?U?U�UZU�U� O�UZO?U?U�U?UZ U�U?U�O?UZU�UZU�U�U�UZO?

Ilaa Rabbika muntahaa haa

Sahih International
To your Lord is its finality.


79:45

O?U?U�UZU�U�UZO? O?UZU�O?UZ U�U?U�O�U?O�U? U�UZU� USUZO�U�O?UZU�U�U�UZO�

Innamaaa anta munziru maiy yakshaahaa

Sahih International
You are only a warner for those who fear it.


79:46

U?UZO?UZU�UZU�U�U?U�U� USUZU?U�U�UZ USUZO�UZU?U�U�UZU�UZO� U�UZU�U� USUZU�U�O?UZO�U?U?U�O�UY O?U?U�UZU�O� O?UZO?U?USUZU�O�U� O?UZU?U� O�U?O�UZU�U�U�UZO�

Ka annahum Yawma yarawnahaa lam yalbasooo illaa ‘ashiyyatan aw duhaahaa

It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
